Migos were the Atlanta trio of Quavo, Offset and Takeoff. In 2022 Quavo and Takeoff, uncle and nephew, released a duo project as Unc & Phew, and its single “Hotel Lobby” came out on May 20 that year. COLORS, the Germany-based channel known for single-colour sets, filmed the pair trading verses into one microphone against a bright orange backdrop and first posted it in June 2022.
Takeoff was shot and killed in Houston on November 1, 2022, which is a big part of why that performance means so much to fans. In September 2026 it resurfaced in a very different form: after a clip of two cats recreating it went viral, people began feeding pairs of photos into apps like Starrd, Summrs and CapCut templates, and hundreds of thousands of versions followed, starring couples, TV characters, footballers and pets.
Because the original act came from two members of Migos, many people simply call the format Migos AI, while others search for Hotel Lobby AI. Who should be Photo 1?
The rapper on the left gets the closest mouth movement and the most attention, so give Photo 1 to the sharper picture, or to whoever has the bigger personality. The dancer’s face is seen a little less closely, which makes Photo 2 slightly more forgiving. Pets work best as Photo 2; they are still experimental and come out less accurately than people.
